Tomorrow Josiah goes to his first Meet the Teacher Day at school! Yesterday was his third birthday and he is so excited about being big and going to preschool. Even though it’s only 2 days a week for a half a day I can’t believe we are doing this already! My little man is growing up so fast!
Today he had a big boy hair cut, and then we went outside to enjoy the weather (it was in the 70′s in Dallas today!!!) and play on the playground at his new school. I intentionally had him wear his new Preschool t-shirt for some pictures so I don’t have to try to take the pictures tomorrow or Tuesday when I will most likely be crying.
Our baby boy Josiah at one week old. He was one of those newborns that stayed quietly awake for long periods of time even as a newborn. So sweet!

That smile that melts my heart!

Yesterday Brian and I were at our church/Brian’s work in Grapevine for an amazing video and photoshoot for the FC women’s ministry, Flavour, and their upcoming conference! My sweet friend Ashley drive up from Waco the night before to stay with the kids in the morning since we had to leave before 5am for the shoot (thanks Ashley!). Around 10am Ashley left and I brought the kids to the shoot with us. Autumn ended up modeling for a bit, I shot some more photos and Josiah “assisted” Brian with video. It was so much fun being there all together.
Brian and I have always tried to have the mentality that our family is our life, and we work with our kids daily. Editing with kids on our laps, having them on shoots, and taking phone calls with laughter (and often screaming) from the kids in the background. Do we turn on cartoons to get work done? Absolutely! Do I cook like I wish I did (like Jamie:)? No way!
But something I have learned is that everyone chooses how they run their lives and their family and this is how we do ours, its crazy, but it works for us and we couldn’t be more happy to have out kids as a part of our business and our everything!
Here’s a few from yesterday behind the scenes, since I can’t share the others with you yet!

We are just got in last night from an awesome week of photo shoots and a little time for Brian and I to celebrate five years of marriage in Ruston! Thanks to my wonderful in laws for accommodating us during 5 days of craziness with the grand-kids and keeping Josiah and Autumn so they didn’t have to play “momma’s camera helper” this weekend. They have 4 grand-kids between the ages of 3 and 1 years old, so its their house gets to hop’n when they are all there at once! And thanks to all of you who were flexible with your schedules to get your sessions done through rescheduling for rain and any other obstacles we ran into, you guys are great! Thanks to Adrienne Russell who carves out time for my hair when I am in town, she truly is amazing with my hair and always fun to visit with. And finally thanks Brian for driving all the way to Ruston in my mom’s van (which I know you hate) just so we could be together and ride home in one car. You are the best husband I could have ever asked for and I couldn’t be more blessed to grow up with you and I look forward to growing old together!
Okay, now for the pic. Here is baby Tait at 14 days old.
Congrats Lara and Cole! It was so good to see you guys again!

Dear Autumn,
This is a tribute to you because lately I have realized that you are not a baby anymore, even though you will always be my baby, you are a little girl. You have a beautiful and unique personality that has shown me parts of our God that I might have never seen if He hadn’t given me you.
In celebration of some of your new milestones, skills and “big girl” ways of life, your big brother and I work on this little photoshoot with you so that we can all remember this time in your life and all the little sweet, precious and fun things you do, so here they are! These are the things we want to remember always about you and what you do.
Love,
Momma
The way you love to dance.
The way you hide so we can see you.
The way you give kisses all the time.
How you are such a free spirit and how that usually means you aren’t very modest
How you wave at people you have never met.
The way you hug and kisses all your bears and baby dolls.
The prissy little thing you do with your arms crossed.
How you like to point out your facial features.
How sweet you look when you are serious.
And how you light up the room when you laugh.
How you make sweet eyes.
How you explore the world.
The way you look at everything with fresh eyes of wonder.
The way you throw your self to the floor when you get mad.
The way you point to yourself and say “O-NOM”
The way you love to wear all those pretty things even though you are already so beautiful.
The sassy little way you hold yourself.
The way you are. We love you.
Josiah was such a great little assistant, hold down the light stand in the wind, and carry equipment! Oh and climbing on my back.
