Here is the post I promised earlier (time was pending how the kids napped, as you can tell Josiah didn’t nap, hence my post near midnight) of Kaylie’s birth from yesterday in Plano, Texas. What a sweet family and gorgeous baby! This proud dad is a photographer also and they have a young son as well so we had an instant connection, I loved being a part of their “birth day” and hope to photograph them again soon! (Newborns maybe?)
For anyone interested in having your birth photographed, here is the video presentation of the images that is included with your birth. Images are in black and white and in color, but I usually do your video sideshow all in black and white. The photos are not graphic in nature, but tasteful and beautiful. Yesterday the Tran family welcomed baby girl Kaylie into their family and I was honored and fortunate to arrive at the hospital in Plano minutes before she was born! I am excited to share a whole slideshow with you later today, but for now here is one of my favorites! Congrats guys!
This is seriously one of the most beautiful newborn babies I have ever laid eyes on!

I have been photographing births for almost 3 years now and they are my absolute hands down favorite type of shoot. A birth is what is it, it can not dress it up or pretend it is something its not and yet it is the most beautiful act a woman could be a part of, not to mention the most difficult and rewarding.
This morning I witnessed the birth of Victoria “Tori” here in the Forth Worth area, which marked my first birth to photograph since our move and my first Dallas/ Fort Worth birth to ever attend. Little Tori was a whopping 9 pounds 10 ounces and her mommy gave birth to her without any drugs or pain meds! Elizabeth and Kirk had taken a Bradley class here in Dallas and were well prepared and kept active, positive and string throughout this awesome labor and birth. Thanks for letting me be a part of your “Birth” day! I was honored! Can’t wait to see you guys in a few days for newborns!
Oh and a special thank you to Brian and anyone in his office at FC who hung out with the kids while I was shooting this birth! You are awesome honey!
Here are a few highlights from today, you can pick up all your image this week when we shoot Tori’s newborns!

Last week one of my closest friends had sweet baby boy #3, Porter Cade! Jamie has been helping me with shoots and finding props and fabrics to compliment all the newborns I have been shooting lately, and we have been talking about her newborn shoot since she got pregnant months ago.
To ad to the excitement I got to photograph Jamie and her boys, Maddox and Harris, and her husband Brian, for her belly shots and then again at Porter’s birth where Porter’s name and gender was a surprise. It was such a fun and special time.
Jamie, thanks for being a great friend that I can be honest with and share life with, even through the bumps in the road! Congratulations, you are awesome!

I had to include this one, because these two women are very special people in our lives. We love you Ms. Kim and Ms. Janet!
Jamie had this hammock made for me, and well, Porter, as a surprise! The hammock is made of hand spun yarn and then hand crocheted by one of our other crafty friends, Rachel. This along with some finger-less gloves (for shooting in the cold) and another hanging prop were the gifts Jamie gave me when when I brought her her birth pictures in the hospital. Some people just know how to spoil me!
This is only a few of Porter’s newborn images, there are many more to come.
