Bellies, bumps, maternity, pregnancy, preggers or round! Alone, or with husband, or kids!

Our friends just had their third baby yesterday, a sweet little boy named Joaquin! He was born via c-section and I couldn’t be in with them for surgery, but I came later when his big sister and brother got to meet him for the first time, which was beyond sweet. Little Joaquin weighed 6 lb 8 oz and was 19 in long, such a little teeny tiny! I’m in love already!

A couple of days ago, before Joaquin was born, his mama came to sit in my backyard in a spot I’d been eyeing for pictures and let me document her baby bump too. The night before that we were at a friends and I took some picture of the other two kids, so these are all going in one post. 🙂

Congrats Carla, Johnny, Luci and Che!

So sometimes I offer people photoshoots because I think they are cool, I want to hang out, and I don’t drink coffee. That, at least was the case with Rebekah this past week. 🙂 Rebekah was the first other person I met from Louisiana since living in Bellingham and if she wasn’t delightful and funny and we didn’t share some of the same friends, I’d hang around her just to hear her talk with her lovely cajun accent.

Anyways, Rebekah is due to have a baby this coming week, so it seemed like the right time to get our and photograph her beautiful baby belly in all the gorgeous spring blooms. Here are a few of my favorites!

I have had such a hard time blogging consistently now that I am a mother of three (even though, yes, it has been almost 18 months since my third). I really am trying to be better. Here are a few of my favorites from this family’s maternity session and then their newborn session a few weeks later, both done at their home. I offer discounts to families looking to book any combination of pregnancy and newborn portrait sessions and birth photography, which almost all of my clients take advantage of. I love getting to see a couple transition into parenthood!

I learned a valuable lesson this past weekend: don’t go out to photograph friends with nothing to tell the time and no regard for how much you are shooting, because you might come home with over 1,000 images and even after culling and culling and culling, you may still have over 230 images selected to “keep.” Yikes! Needless to say I had a lot of fun hanging out with Fred, Erin and Isaiah on Saturday around their house and at a nearby park. They are about the funnest and most beautiful little family ever-and I cannot wait to meet their newest little member when he or she arrives in November!

Fred & Erin, I hope you guys enjoy these…there are LOTS more! 🙂

Fred is an amazing designer and animator, who works with my hubby. He is currently illustrating a sweet alphabet book for “vehicle loving toddlers,” and you can sign up to get updates on ordering his book here, or by clicking the image above.
