You might remember Melissa and her hubby form their pregnancy session a few months back (click here to view!).Â Well there ~~little~~ bigÂ guy arrived a couple weeks ago and I was just delighted to get to photograph this sweet little chunk! It reminded me so much of posing and photographing my Silas with his gorgeous chubby cheeks! 🙂 Congratulations Melissa and Jesse! You made a beautiful little human being!

Happy 1st Birthday Silas Rogue

My last baby turned 1 today. I think I need therapy for just that one line. It has been a year of getting to know this big personality that has joined our little family and I can’t believe it has gone by already. I love this little one so much, I can barely stand it and I am thankful to have gotten another chance to raise a baby through his first 12 months of life, there is truly nothing like this period of time.

Last Sunday we had a little party with our family and my Dad and step mom and this morning we all went out and shared a Monster Donut from Rocket donuts, that was bigger than Silas’ head. Here are some picture of Silas’ party and is 12 month photos and a flash back to last year at his birth.

A New Birth Center’s First Baby: Bellingham Birth Photographer

On Monday morning I was getting up to take Brian to the airport and I got a text from a midwife that someone was on their way to the new Birthroots Birth Center in labor. I didn’t know the name of the mama, but it sounded like I was supposed to be there so I got everyone ready and asked my friend if I could bring all three of my kiddos to her house at what ended up being 6:45am and headed to the birth. There I met and amazingly strong and beautiful mama, her husband and their doula, Christi.Apparently Bethy was planning on calling me that day to connect with me about photographing herÂ birth, but went in to labor instead so Jessie, her midwife, texted me to come. So let this be a PSA to book your birth photographer in advance, haha! 🙂

Here are some of my favorites from her birth that can be shared. 🙂 And also the family’s slideshow! Thanks for bravely inviting me to your birth, without having ever met me before Bethy, it was an honor! Congratulations on your new baby and being the first birth at the center!

I love including a shot of the sky around the time of a birth. Often mamas don;t get to go sit and stare at the sky for a while. 🙂 It was a beautiful day for a birth.
